August 30 and 31, 2011 Mandatory in-person registration for the competitive program this year will take place on Tues. August 30th from 5:30-7:30 and Wed. August 31st from 6:00-8:00 at Taiso. Registration packages will be mailed to athletes so be sure to bring all necessary forms, cheques, and materials to one of these registration days! All athletes will need to be fully registered or they will not be allowed on the gym floor! NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Email office@taiso.ca if you have any questions or concerns.

August 27, 2011 A Sports Expo will be held at the Sasktel Sports Center from 10am to 6pm and Taiso has a booth! Be sure to check out the event and the demonstration by our Taiso boys! Volunteers will be needed to set up, take down, and man the booth.

August 10-14, 2011 Congratulations to the following Taiso athletes who represented Saskatchewan at the Western Canadian Summer Games in Kamloops, BC in August. Team Sask received a bronze medal at the Games:

Jayd Lukenchuk placed an impressive 9th overall at the Japan Cup held in Tokyo. Congratulations! Read the news release from Gymnnastics Canada.
Anderson Loran attended the Puerto Rican Cup in MAYAGUEZ, Puerto Rico in July. He qualified for the men's final by placing 4th on pommel and 7th on floor. Nice work, Anderson! See the news story on the Gymnastics Canada website.
June 26, 2011 The annual Taiso bottle drive was at 11 am at the King residence (2217 Easthill) and ran until 4 pm. Taiso athletes are encouraged to wear their Taiso clothing and to collect bottles/cans in their own area prior to our drive. Our bottle drive area will be the southwest corner of the city. What a great way to earn some volunteer hours!!
June 25, 2011 The annual Taiso BBQ and windup for all Taiso athletes followed the trails for the WCSG, starting around 4pm with awards and certificates at 6pm followed by the BBQ at 7pm. A sign up sheet for the BBQ was posted in the Taiso entry.
June 25, 2011 The second trials for the Western Canadian Summer Games was held at Taiso. Warm up began at 12:30.
May 22 - 29, 2011 The 2011 Canadian Championships were held in Charlottetown, P.E.I. Taiso athletes who attended were Jayd Lukenchuk, Anderson Loran, Curtis Graves, Trevor McArthur, Teague King, Wyatt Tyndall, Tyler Montgomery, Keith Boyle,Nicolas Hallgrimson, Mitch Tyndall, and Jesse Tyndall!

May 7, 2011 Taiso held our annual garage sale with proceeds going towards the improvement of the pit. Our bottle drive has been postponed until further notice so that more families can be available. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make our garage sale a big success!

March 25-27, 2011 2010 marked the final year of the Jurassic Classic. 2011 brings the first ever Kyle Shewfelt Gymnastics Festival which many of our Taiso boys attended. This weekend-long event celebratde the various disciplines of gymnastics, and was hosted by Olympic Champion Kyle Shewfelt. February 11-19,2011: Congratulations to our Taiso athletes at the Canada Winter Games in Halifax! Special congratulations to Curtis Graves who placed 4th All Around. He also won a gold medal on parallel bars, a bronze medal on rings, and came in 8th on pommel. Also congratulations to Teague King who placed 23rd and Wyatt Tyndall who placed 25th all around. February, 2011: Good luck to our Taiso athletes - Curtis, Teague, Tyler, Wyatt, and Keith ,who are traveling to Halifax for the Canada Winter Games. Congratulations to Curtis Graves who was selected to be the flag bearer for Team Saskatchwan. Opening cermonies aired on TSN on Friday, February 11 at 5pm. January 19-24, 2011: The men's team returned from Whitlow Invitational in Florida and are looking forward to the Canada Games in three weeks. The team competed in the Level 9 division and finished 2nd, with three athletes taking top spot on individual events: Teague King 1st High Bar, 2nd AA; Joel Gagnon 1st Floor and 1st Vault, 3rd AA; Tyler Montgomery 1st Rings, 6th AA; Nicolas Hallgrimson 3rd Floor, 8th AA; Wyatt Tyndall (17th AA); and Keith Boyle (19th AA). November 15- 22, 2010: Jayd Lukenchuk traveled to Glasgow, Scotland with Markos Baikas to attend a World Cup event [Glasgow Grand Prix. Artistic Gymnastics FIG World Cup. Glasgow (GBR)]. He made it to the finals in parallel bars and placed 7th! Congratulations, Jayd!!
October 30, 2010: Gym Sask 2010 Awards Gala were held at the Travelodge in Regina starting at 6pm. Special congratulations to Curtis Graves who was named "2010 Athlete of the Year - National Men."

October 3-10, 2010: Congratulations to our very own Anderson Loran who won a silver medal in men's high bar on October 8 at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India. His Team Canada also placed third behind Australia and England. Way to go, Anderson!! Full story at Gymnastics Canada
SEPTEMBER 2-5, 2010: Congratulations to our very own Anderson Loran and Jayd Lukenchuk of Taiso Gymnastics who competed for Canada at the Pan Am Gymnastics Championships September 2-5 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Jayd came in 14th All Around.

Jayd Lukenchuk was named to the World Gymnastics Championships team (Rotterdam Netherlands, October 12-24). Lukenchuk has competed at World Cup events, but this is the first time at the World Championships. Previous Taiso athletes to attend World Championships include Warren Long, James Rozon, and Rhett Stinson.
